changed planes at New York City, saw Statue of Liberty
changed planes at Minneapolis/St. Paul
arrived in Anchorage at 5:30 PM AKST
swimming at hotel pool
pizza ordered and eaten at hotel
Day 2 - Friday, March 4
Magic Bus picks us up at 8:15, takes us to Millenium Hotel, Martin Buser's, lunch at Subway and back to hotel
presentation by Aliy Zirkle and Allen Moore at hotel
some had pizza at hotel
some went downtown to Fifth Avenue Mall food court, one student had sushi, then watched streets being covered with snow
Day 3 - Saturday, March 5
at start of race for musher autographs at 8 AM
great viewing spot for start of race
lunch and warming up at Fifth Avenue Mall food court
top of parking garage for another view of the start
groups - swimming at hotel, shopping downtown
met up for running of reindeer, saw ice sculptures, supper downtown at Alaska Salmon and Chowder House
Day 4 - Sunday, March 6
H2Oasis
Dimond Center Mall with Native dancing and craft fair
supper at Benihana's
Day 5 - Monday, March 7
flew across Alaska Range, left at 8:15 and arrived at 9:15
mini school bus took us to the school, luggage in back of pickup truck
McGrath Museum
lunch at the school, ice fishing in the afternoon
checked out checkpoint
supper provided by McGrath Booster Club
Day 6 - Tuesday, March 8
prepared breakfast at school
kickball game with 3-5 in gym
presented video and shared gifts with 6-8
lunch at McGrath School
sledding with McGrath students in the afternoon
many mushers arrived in early evening and overnight
supper provided by McGrath Booster Club
Day 7 - Wednesday, March 9
one group met with Iditarod Air Force pilots and went to dropped dog area, another group went to checkpoint and helped with dogs
more mushers arrived
lunch at checkpoint by Takusko House
worked on beading moose hide key chains at checkpoint
northern lights late evening/early morning
supper provided by McGrath Booster Club
Day 8 - Thursday, March 10
worked at dog drop
worked in kitchen
met with G. B. Jones
leftovers for lunch

Day 9 - Friday, March 11
packed up and flew out of McGrath at 9:45
went to hotel with bags
visited Anchorage Museum
lunch/supper at Sourdough Mining Company
visited chocolate factory
departed Anchorage 9:30 PM AKST
Day 10 - Saturday, March 12
arrived in Bangor at 12:30 PM EST
